Description

The Annual Conference of the Eko-Konnect Research and Education Initiative is focused on research and education networking activities in Nigeria.

This Conference brings together practitioners in the research and education networking community, librarians, researchers, policymakers, and service providers from across Nigeria and the WACREN region.

The theme of this year’s conference is “Developing a National Repository for Science & Humanities”.

The event will take advantage of the WACREN partnership with the National Institute of Informatics (NII) on research infrastructures to host a developer workshop for interested parties on the Invenio-based WEKO3 multi-tenancy repository platform.

The following days will have sessions geared at promoting open scholarship, preserving and providing access to digital content and the support of research data management.  The stakeholders in the conference will explore the next practical steps towards providing national research infrastructures as the central theme.

In parallel sessions on the last day, the Eko-Konnect Youth in Technology Day aims to promote the participation of students and young professionals in the research and education sector by connecting them to the NREN Weather Map Project.
