The World Bank Group is assisting Research and Education Networks (RENs) in a number of African economies through its lending programs, usually as part of broader programs focused on Digital Development. This paper will look at the objectives and structure of these lending programs in three countries -- Ghana, Malawi and Somalia -- and will examine how the model could be applied in other countries.
