The WACREN 2019 Student Poster Competition is an opportunity for students to present their latest projects and research results to a wide conference audience and to network with peers and experts in their research area. If your poster submission is accepted, it will be displayed during the conference.
At least one student author for each accepted poster must register to attend the conference and be designated to present the poster at the welcome reception at the Marriott Hotel in Accra, Ghana on Wednesday, March 13, 2019.
The poster presentation will consist of a visual display of the poster and an interactive question and answer period with a panel of judges. Judges for the competition will be active WACREN members and collaborators scoring in two separate categories—1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for undergraduate students and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for graduate students.
An attendee may present only one poster. Posters must represent original work and cannot be previously published in another venue.
Winning posters will be recognized at the conference Gala Dinner and on WACREN websites.
Poster Submission Guidelines
Undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to submit a poster abstract of 100 – 250 words on any of the conference topics.
Your poster should summarise your ideas using more graphs and images and less text. It should be in portrait A1 size, in English or French and must have a title, author's name, contact details and affiliation.
Send your poster abstract to email@example.com with the subject “WACREN 2019 Student Poster” and a short biography (up to 100 words).
Selected poster presenters from WACREN Members participating in AfricaConnect2 will be eligible to apply to receive a scholarship that includes full conference registration, a reimbursable travel stipend and hotel accommodation.
