The eduGAIN interfederation service connects identity federations worldwide, simplifying access to content, services and resources for the global research and education community. eduGAIN comprises over 60 participant federations connecting more than 5,000 Identity and Service Providers. https://edugain.org/
Objective:
The workshop's objective is to promote eduGAIN as a service of relevance for NRENs and their constituency. At the end of the workshop, participants will be more aware of the benefits and the requirements to deploy their identity federations and join eduGAIN.
The presenters will outline the service, its usage and relevance for NREN users and show how GEANT NRENs have taken up the service and built dependent services in some cases. A Q&A session at the end of the workshop will highlight the requirements and resourcing needs to deploy the service. After the workshop, there will be further opportunities to follow up with individual questions.
