Description

Introduction

African research output is growing, yet many African scholarly journals still struggle with global visibility, discoverability, and credibility. At the same time, the rise of predatory journals threatens the integrity of open access publishing. To address these challenges, LIBSENSE and DOAJ are co-hosting this webinar to explore how African journals can enhance their reputation, visibility, and trustworthiness through inclusion in the DOAJ.

The webinar will:

  1. Demonstrate how DOAJ indexing improves journal visibility and scholarly impact.
  2. Position DOAJ as a marker of quality that safeguards against predatory publishing.
  3. Equip editors and publishers with the knowledge and tools to meet DOAJ standards.
  4. Foster collaboration around sustainable pathways for African journals in global open science.
