 men-in-WACREN is looking for mentors (men & women) to volunteer to support
  teams in the Climate Innovation Lab 2026 as they build and refine digital
  solutions to climate challenges in West and Central Africa.\nMentors cont
 ribute during the Lab itself and/or through the six-month post-Lab Communi
 ty of Practice and Solution Mentorship programme.\nAreas of expertise\nWe'
 re looking for practical experience in one or more of these:\n\n\nClimate 
 change\, environmental science\, adaptation or mitigation\n\n\nSoftware de
 velopment and solution architecture\n\n\nArtificial intelligence and data 
 science\n\n\nGIS and Earth observation\n\n\nIoT\, sensors and environmenta
 l monitoring\n\n\nUser experience and human-centred design\n\n\nEntreprene
 urship\, business models and sustainability\n\n\nProduct development and d
 eployment\n\n\nInstitutional adoption and partnerships\n\n\nMonitoring\, e
 valuation and impact\n\n\nWhat mentors will do\nThis varies by team\, but 
 mentors can expect to:\n\n\nGive specialist technical or domain advice.\n\
 n\nReview solution concepts and prototypes.\n\n\nHelp teams spot technical
  or implementation challenges early.\n\n\nConnect teams to useful tools\, 
 data\, expertise or networks.\n\n\nAdvise on testing\, deployment and adop
 tion.\n\n\nHelp teams build realistic technical and implementation roadmap
 s.\n\n\nCheck in periodically as solutions develop after the Lab.\n\n\nWha

 gment\n\n\nSponsorship for in-person participation at the innovation lab\n
 \n\nWho we're looking for\nMentors can come from universities\, research i
 nstitutions\, NRENs\, government\, industry\, innovation hubs\, civil soci
 ety or development organisations.\nWhat matters most is relevant\, practic
 al experience\, ease working across multidisciplinary teams\, and the abil
 ity to give honest guidance while letting participants keep ownership of t
 heir solutions.\nMentors don't need to be trainers or facilitators. The po
 int is to make the right expertise available to teams exactly when they ne
