 REN is seeking volunteer facilitators (men & women) for the Climate Innova
 tion Lab 2026\, scheduled for October 12–15. This four-day intensive pro
 gram brings together multidisciplinary teams to design and build digital s
 olutions addressing climate challenges across West and Central Africa.\nEx
 pertise we need\nFacilitators should have hands-on experience in one or mo
 re of these areas:\n\n\nClimate & environment — adaptation\, mitigation\
 , environmental sustainability\, resilience\, or related African climate c
 hallenges.\n\n\nDigital technologies for climate action — applying AI\, 
 data science\, GIS\, Earth observation\, IoT\, digital platforms or other 
 emerging tech to climate and environmental problems.\n\n\nHuman-centred de
 sign — problem definition\, user and stakeholder research\, needs analys
 is\, translating real-world challenges into solution requirements.\n\n\nDe
 sign thinking & ideation — running collaborative ideation\, weighing app
 roaches\, helping teams sharpen ideas into viable concepts.\n\n\nTesting\,
  documentation & iteration — user testing\, interpreting feedback\, refi
 ning solutions\, producing the documentation teams need.\n\n\nPitching & A
 doption — helping teams articulate the problem\, the solution\, the expe
 cted impact\,  potential funding\, partnerships\, prepare a strong demo a
 nd what it takes to carry a promising prototype beyond the Lab.\n\n\nWho w
 e're looking for\n\n\nPractical experience in at least one area above\, no
 t just familiarity with it.\n\n\nComfortable facilitating and mentoring\, 
 not lecturing.\n\n\nAt ease with multidisciplinary teams spanning differen
 t levels of technical skill.\n\n\nSkilled at helping teams turn broad chal
 lenges into specific\, achievable solutions.\n\n\nFamiliar with African re
 search\, education\, innovation\, climate or technology environments\, ide
 ally through direct experience.\n\n\nAble to give honest\, constructive fe
 edback while leaving teams ownership of their ideas.\n\n\nOpen to working 
 alongside other facilitators whose strengths complement their own.\n\n\nFa
 cilitators can come from universities\, research institutions\, NRENs\, in
 novation hubs\, government\, industry\, civil society or development organ
 isations.\nRole during the Lab\nFacilitators guide teams through the full 
 arc: climate challenge\, problem definition\, user needs\, ideation\, solu
 tion design\, prototype\, testing\, demonstration\, roadmap.\nThis is lear
 ning by doing. Most of a facilitator's time goes into working directly wit
 h teams: asking questions\, challenging assumptions\, offering specialist 
 input\, and helping participants make real progress rather than sitting in
  on theory.\nSelected facilitators may also be invited into the programme'
 s post-Lab Community of Practice and ongoing solution mentorship.\nWhat’
