Catalyzing Quality Higher Education and Research

WACREN is organizing its 3rd Annual Conference and 4th Annual General Meeting on 30-31 March 2017, hosted by the Ivoirian Research and Education Network (RITER).  

This year's conference brings together policy and decision makers, scientists, researchers, network managers, collaboration specialists, e-learning, identity and access management experts, and connectivity and equipment providers from across Africa and the rest of the world. 

The conference will take place on on 30-31 March 2017 and is preceeded by two workshops on cybersecurity and engagement with librarians as interfaces with the end-users.  

An AfricaConnect2 meeting,  a joint MAGIC/TANDEM/Sci-GaIA workshop and the Final Event of the TANDEM project are also colocated with the conference in a week of activities commencing on 27 March 2017 with the workshops and ending on 31 March 2017 with the WACREN AGM.

The main theme of the conference is: "Catalyzing Quality Higher Education and Research", with the following sub-themes:

1.  Advanced networks, applications and services (SDN, Cloud services, NOCaaS, .....)
2.  Trust, Identity and Security
3.  NRENs and communities: Business models, Communities of Practice, Use cases and Collaboration

Conference attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a number of fun and exciting social events. Each event offers a unique opportunity to experience some of the local culture and network with fellow attendees.

Authors of selected papers who are not able to get full or partial sponsorship from their organizations to attend the conference, may be supported for travel and/or accommodation, subject to availability of resources (for maximum one author per paper).
